The music is a vital part of any wedding. It is probably best to choose music that will keep all your guests happy. Some couples like to have their favourite style of music at the drinks reception while after dinner can be a mix for all.
Some entertainment during the drinks reception before the meal is a great idea. String quartets are a popular choice for this time. If you have had a string quartet at the church service you can get them to play here as well. String quartets need space to swing their bows and armless chairs to sit on. If you ask them to play outdoors make sure they are not in direct sunlight or exposed to rain.
Jazz bands are a great choice if you want something classy and upbeat at this time.
When the meal and speeches have finished you can have a band play for dancing. It is quite common to hire a band and have a DJ after the band.
